The house as seen from the lake in the winter of 1958. Parts of the dock, not dismantled for the winter, are in the foreground. Normally the entire dock was brought in each fall. Not so visible are the two weeping willow trees just left of the arbor.
A view of the back of the house in winter of 1958. A fuel oil tank sat on the right hand side. There is a rock chimney on the left. It was built by neighbor H. J. Sholl. This is a black and white photo so it doesn't show the kelly green color of the house. The trim was white. Click for enlargement
By the winter of '59 the house had a white paint job. By this time the house had its own well, eliminating the need to pump water from the lake.
Here is the house in 1981. By this time Dean has completed a major remodeling which included rearrangement of the interior rooms. I moved out of the house in 1968.
This photo taken in 1982 or '83 shows another new feature: A garage. There also is a new rock border treatment all around the house and a boardwalk from the door. It is pretty much the way the house looked until it was sold in 2000. The house gets a garage This is probably the annual 4th of July party in progress.
