The lake home was part of the Preston family from the summer of 1955 until
June, 2000. This is a recent view from the yard just north of the house.

Many friends came
to visit nearly every summer Sunday afternoon. The Dungans are backing
their boat towards the lake. |

friends test the ice in front of the house in late November, 1966. |

I'm jamming on my new Gibson
"335" guitar here in the summer of 1966 in the front yard of the
lake house. |
| My band could

A lake view from the back
yard in 1966 which shows Dean's '65 Chevrolet convertible and my '65 Chevy
Caprice. That is a propane gas tank to the right of the cars. |

This is a map of Independence
Beach as it existed in the 1950s. Our place was at the northern end of
Lakeshore Avenue. |

The evening sun casts long shadows on the last party as it
draws to an end. |
