>Boat in 1958< Our boat, in a photo taken in 1958. As I recall it had a 35 horse Evinrude motor.
In the winter of '58 my father Jack Preston launches a home-made kite. He also created a box kite. >Jack Preston<
>Dungan's arrive< Many friends came to visit nearly every summer Sunday afternoon. The Dungans are backing their boat towards the lake.
Some of my friends test the ice in front of the house in late November, 1966. >Testing the ice<
>With the Gibson< I'm jamming on my new Gibson "335" guitar here in the summer of 1966 in the front yard of the lake house.
My band could be easily heard across the lake when we played in the front yard. >Dead End Kids<
>Cars in back yard< A lake view from the back yard in 1966 which shows Dean's '65 Chevrolet convertible and my '65 Chevy Caprice. That is a propane gas tank to the right of the cars.
A front-yard view of the lake and our newer boat in the fall of 1966. >Fall of 1966<
>Beach area< This is a map of Independence Beach as it existed in the 1950s. Our place was at the northern end of Lakeshore Avenue.
We had a last party. Last Party
Sold The evening sun casts long shadows on the last party as it draws to an end.
