rare and here there are not any shoulders either.

India has over a billion people and sometimes it seems like they are
all out on the road. Coimbatore is full of textile mills and auto part
outlets.

Some parts of town are very nice and some are not so nice. Back
behind these buildings are closely packed ramshackle residences.

There are many of these really narrow lanes. Some are lined closely
with auto part stores. I walked one of them where there were only stores
selling bearings.
