Jim Preston's Home Town

First LRV   Opening Day for the 8-mile first segment of the Hiawatha Light Rail Line was June 26, 2004. The train on the left is the first to leave the station and carried Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Minneapolis Mayor R. T. Rybak and many other dignitaries.
Cedar Riverside   This picture of the light rail station at Cedar-Riverside was taken from the rooftop patio of Baja Riverside, now the Bedlam Theater. This was on June 27, 2004.  Click here to view a quick time movie.
  >peace<   In the Peace Garden near Lakes Harriet and Calhoun in S. Minneapolis. I'm standing on a rock which, I am told, came from ground zero in Nagasaki Japan.
  >Fruen Mill<   The Fruen Mill (background) is near Bassets Creek and Wirth Park.
  >Washington Ave RR bridge<   Washington Avenue gets a new bridge over the tracks in the Warehouse District in the Fall of 2001.
The fountain in the Rose Garden   This fountain is just north of Lake Harriet, one of Minneapolis' urban lakes.
New Central Library   The new central library, designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates, just before completion in 2005. Photo is from the intersection of 4th St. and Hennepin Ave.
