Albany Platform When I hopped off the Lake Shore Limited in Albany I knew I'd be in New York City before long. Amtrak trains really can move down the Hudson River corridor, which has new tracks.
The Boss With a one-week Metro card it was as though I owned the whole subway.
The Reporter Jim Preston reporting from ABC Studios in Times Square.
Guggenheim Breakthrough or blunder? Regardless, it's the Guggenheim and I like it.
Chelsea This neighborhood in Chelsea is really nice. This is right about 22nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in Manhattan.
A Native? I feel like a native New Yorker as I get ready to walk on the Brooklyn Bridge.
On the Bridge It's breezy up here. I decided to walk out to the first tower.
Downtown Done, I'm ready for a more serious adventure.
Ground Zero The devastation around Ground Zero is incomprehensible but by now it is getting pretty well cleaned up. I went to the viewing platform at night and experienced profound sadness.
Memorial Wall Memorials and missing person requests are found in several places around Ground Zero.
Rescue This bronze statue of a grieving member of New York's Bravest in full rescue attire is about to be transported to an unknown location.
Ground Zero 1 The view from the Ground Zero Viewing Platform.
Ground Zero 2 Another view of Ground Zero
Ground Zero 3 Glen and I were allowed 3 minutes to view Ground Zero from the platform along with about 25 others. The wait, however, was not long, about five minutes from arrival at the site.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
